Our Story
The Park Hyatt brand was founded in 1979 by visionary philanthropist and entrepreneur, Jay Pritzker. Understated, yet worldly and refined, Jay was passionate about travel, world-class food and wine, culture and the arts. His personal passions became the foundation of the Park Hyatt brand. The first established Park Hyatt property, Park Hyatt Chicago is uniquely located overlooking the serenity of Water Tower Park, its proximity reflecting the reverence for nature that today inspires and infuses our hotels across the globe.
